SBI Webinar: Remote Breast Imaging: Diagnostic Workflows in Practice
Remote diagnostic breast imaging is increasingly common across private practice, community, and academic settings. It allows patients to receive high-quality subspecialized care and supports radiologists' work-life balance and reduces burnout. The purpose of this webinar is to describe the workflow of remote diagnostics and illustrate the strategies we have developed to manage technically challenging exams and unexpected findings without being in the room. Additionally, we will discuss methods to deliver results to patients when working remotely and share interesting cases we have encountered in a remote setting. We will share perspectives from both private practice and academic radiologists.

- Describe the operational components required to establish a successful remote diagnostic breast imaging program, including IT infrastructure, technologist requirements, and HIPAA-compliant communication.
- Discuss challenging cases (including technically difficult ultrasound exams and findings that may be discordant with mammography) and identify strategies for managing these scenarios without real-time scanning capability.
