SBI Webinar: Missed and Misinterpreted Breast Cancers: Lessons Learned

SBI Webinar: Missed and Misinterpreted Breast Cancers: Lessons Learned

Missed and misinterpreted breast cancers can be visualized on retrospective review of a patient’s prior imaging and may be the result of a variety of factors. This webinar aims to provide further education on breast malignancies that can be potentially missed or misinterpreted on imaging. Types of error and cognitive biases that may impact image interpretation will be discussed and the radiologist will be provided with strategies and techniques to minimize future breast cancer misses. Abundant cases using multiple breast imaging modalities (mammogram, US, and MRI) will be shown to illustrate various findings of missed/misinterpreted breast cancers and to emphasize key learning points. This image-rich discussion will have the goal to improve diagnostic accuracy and help reduce missed/misinterpreted breast cancers in practice.
