SBI Webinar: Culturally Competent Care for Hispanic/Latino Patients - Archived

This webinar will focus on the Hispanic/Latino community and how we can better serve this patient population. Experts will examine the disparities and discuss how to improve health equity in breast imaging among this population.

This is part two of the Inclusion webinar series present by the SBI Inclusion Diversity Equity Alliance.

Learning Objectives

  1. Define cultural competency in healthcare.
  2. Discuss Hispanic/Latino cultural perspectives and values regarding health and healthcare.
  3. Recognize different approaches to establish rapport and build a relationship with Hispanic/Latino patients. 
  4. Review cultural values that play an important role in the health of the Hispanic/Latino population.
  5. Describe the similarities, as well as, variability among Hispanic subgroups.
